Processing a Transaction

The terminal is not just for charges. In the top-right corner of the Process Transaction screen, merchants can toggle between two critical modes:

  1. Charge (Default): Immediate Authorization + Capture. Money moves tonight during batch settlement.

  2. Auth Only: Places a hold on funds but does not charge the card. Used for hotels/rentals or when delaying shipment. The merchant must manually capture these funds later.
