Tag Settings

Configure all tag types in Settings > Register > Tag Settings. Expand the section to access each tag category.

Special Tags (Item Identifiers):

  1. Navigate to Settings > Register > Tag Settings > Special Tags > View/Edit Special Tags
  2. Give the tag a Name, POS Name, and a 2-letter Abbreviation (e.g., “GF” for Gluten Free)
  3. Set the Background Color and Text Color for the tag icon
  4. Save. The 2-letter abbreviation appears in the corner of the item button on the register when assigned to a menu item.

Seat & Order Tags:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Register > Tag Settings > Seat and Order Tags > View/Edit
  2. Create tags for allergies (e.g., Nut Allergy), descriptors, or special events (e.g., Birthday, Anniversary)
  3. Set whether each tag applies to Orders, Seats, or Both
  4. Mark frequently used tags as Favorites for quick access at the top of the selection list

Mod Tags:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Register > Tag Settings > Mod Tags > View/Edit
  2. Some mod tags are system defaults and locked (e.g., No, Extra, Light). Custom tags can be added.
  3. Set each tag as Active/Inactive, configure the Kitchen Display name, and assign to specific menus
  4. Set the Tag Position: whether the tag word appears before or after the modifier name

Void & Discount Reasons:

Configured in the same Tag Settings section. When an employee voids an item or applies a discount, the system prompts for a reason from this list. Custom reasons can be added.

Open Item Types:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Register > Tag Settings > Open Item Types > View/Edit
  2. Create open item categories (e.g., Open Food, Open Liquor, Room Rental)
  3. Assign the Printer Location, Sales Tax, and Reporting Group for each type
  4. Save. These types appear when staff uses the + Add Open Item button on the register.
