Seating & Seat Management
When seating is enabled, the system prompts for a seat number when adding items, allowing items to be tracked per guest for accurate splitting and kitchen awareness.
Steps to Enable and Configure Seating:
- Navigate to Settings > Register > Table Service Settings
- Scroll to Seating and enable the toggle
- Enable Seat Positions to allow custom seat labels
- Click View/Edit Seat Positions to customize. By default, seats 1–12 are available.
- Use the Add Seat Position button to create custom seats (e.g., “Man,” “Woman,” “Child,” or “Seat 13”)
- Set custom colors for each seat position (background and text color) for visual differentiation
- Save the seat positions
Seat Options on the Register:
- Standard Seats: Seats 1–12 display by default. Swipe for additional custom seats.
- Multi Seat: Tap Multi Seat before selecting seats to assign the same item to different seats simultaneously (e.g., 2 Steaks to Seat 1 and Seat 2).
- Ticket Seat Bar Options: Configure in Settings > Register how the seat bar displays on the ticket:
- Carousel – dropdown navigation between seats
- Buttons with Filter – tapping a seat shows only that seat’s items
- Buttons No Filter – shows all items but auto-assigns new items to the selected seat
- None – hides the seat bar entirely
Seat Tags: When prompted for a seat, tap the Seat Tags button at the top to assign allergy, dietary, or event tags to individual seats. Use Clear Tags to remove one seat’s tags or Reset Tags to remove all.
